10 Suggestions for a Great 2017

Below are ten suggestions that I believe will put you on the path to a great year in 2017.

STAY POSITIVE
Feed your mind with a consistently positive diet – listen to uplifting, motivational, and educational books on tape or podcasts. Go on a TV news diet: consume less news on a daily basis. Most of it is negative, sensational, and meant to prey on your fears. Stay positive.

KEEP AND EXPAND WHAT YOU HAVE
Visit with the top 20% of your clients or stakeholders in January to see how they are doing, how you could better serve them, what their 2017 goals are, and what other unmet service needs they may have. Focus on client retention and expansion.

FOCUS
Focus on creating a clear organizational vision. Develop strategies and goals to effectively implement the vision and cascade them throughout the organization. Communicate your vision frequently to employees. Educate and market to your clients, prospects, and referral sources about why it’s in their best interest to do or continue to do business with you. Make your marketing an on-going, systematic, educational process.

REMEMBER IT’S A CONTACT SPORT
Your organizational growth is all about building trust, establishing relationships, and empowering clients or stakeholders to discover their own solutions and seize their own opportunities. You can’t fully achieve that dynamic without sufficient face-to-face interaction. Set a goal to meet with a set number of people every week. Go make contact!

FACE YOUR MENTAL DEMONS
Be totally honest with yourself and determine the top three self-limiting beliefs/excuses holding you back from greater success, happiness, and fulfillment, and then share those with someone (coach, peer, partner, etc.) to help you overcome them. To achieve your desired outcomes, you must first win the inner game (proper mindset, supporting daily thoughts, empowering beliefs, positive stories, etc.).

BELIEVE TO ACHIEVE
Believe in yourself as a worthy executive. Belief fuels results!

ADD MORE ACCOUNTABILITY
Put more accountability in your life and business. Work with a coach or accountability partner who will give you honest, tough-love, and objective feedback and accountability. Surround yourself with a few highly positive influencers who will challenge you and keep you accountable. They will not allow you to make excuses or succumb to your limiting beliefs.

OWN YOUR RESULTS
Take full responsibility for ALL your results…no excuses or blaming. Own your results so you don’t give your power away to others or to circumstances. Choose to be a victor, not a victim.

Here’s to you and great results in 2017!
