Institute Scholarship Program

 

How To Apply


Institute for Organization Management is proud to offer several full and partial scholarships to participants in 2012. Each scholarship is evaluated with the same criteria and may be awarded based on an evaluation of an applicant's financial need, involvement in industry professional organizations, community service, and professional background.

To apply for a scholarship, you must fill out the online application. Each application requires applicants to upload and electronically submit a cover letter, resume, and two letters of recommendation.

All information, including your recommendation letters, must be received by the Institute office prior to midnight on the designated deadline to be considered for a scholarship. Scholarship recipients will be notified prior to the early enrollment deadlines listed for each individual Institute site.

Institute Scholarships Available


Listed below are the scholarship programs offered through Institute. If you have questions about your eligibility for a particular scholarship program, you may contact the Institute office at 202-463-5570.

Institute's National Scholarship
Any participant that is attending Institute for the very first time may be eligible for a National Scholarship. Each Institute site awards six scholarships worth $500 each toward first-year tuition and enrollment fees. The applicant's organization must be a member of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

Regent Scholarships
The Regent Scholarship Program provides financial assistance to both first-year and returning participants. Each year, these are awarded in varying amounts to assist with tuition and enrollment fees. Regent Scholarships are made possible by donations from generous volunteers and participants to Institute site specific silent auctions, and other on-site fundraising opportunities. Applicant's organization does not have to be a member of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. 

 

25 Full-Tuition Scholarships Available to First-Year Attendees


Institute is proud to partner with Sam’s Club® and Constant Contact® in 2012 to provide full-tuition scholarships to first-year attendees. Scholarships cover the cost of tuition only and are available to U.S Chamber of Commerce members. Scholarship recipients are responsible for transportation, housing and incidental expenses.

 

Sam's Club is offering 20 full-tuition scholarships to first-year attendees this summer. Sam’s Club was founded with the aim of leveling the playing field between small and large businesses by offering goods and services at low prices. Today, the company’s commitment to small businesses is stronger than ever.

 

 Constant Contact® is offering 5 full-tuition scholarships for first-year attendees this summer. Constant Contact is a trusted resource for more than 400,000 small businesses, nonprofits, and member organizations, including more than 1500 chambers.  Constant Contact champions the needs of small organizations and provides them with an easy and affordable way to build successful, lasting customer relationships through email marketing, online surveys and event marketing.

Shelia Lee Scholarship


In 2012, Institute will award five full-tuition scholarships in memory of Shelia Lee, IOM, CCE, former Chair Elect of Institute for Organization Management and President and CEO of the Lawton Fort Sill Chamber of Commerce. These scholarships are presented in honor of her legacy to the program and industry. One scholarship will be awarded to a first -year attendee per site.

 

Additional Resources


Financial assistance and scholarships are also provided by various organizations, including state chamber of commerce executives associations (CCEs) and societies of association executives (SAEs).

Additionally, through the Pay It Forward program, Institute is partnering with CCEs and SAEs across the country to provide two $500 partial scholarships to first year attendees. Click here to learn more and to view a list of the participating organizations for 2012.

Scholarship Policies


Please be aware that any of the above Institute scholarships cannot be combined. Scholarship recipients are permitted to use one Institute scholarship toward their individual site tuition. For questions or clarification, contact the Institute office directly at 202-463-5570.
